TIDBRF 2016

This post is a long time coming and I know it’s very late but hey, maybe it’ll be good to rekindle some of the fire from this competition in anticipation of upcoming Nationals.

TIDBRF was a weekend of huge ups and downs and the way things panned out was almost as if it were the plotline of a movie. So many emotions, it was definitely a dramatic weekend to remember.

*Spoiler alert* It was a successful weekend. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Milton and Toronto Women’s Regattas (Part 1/2)

The summer’s barely started (technically it’s not even summer yet) and we’ve already had two regattas in one weekend with a third this past weekend (post about Pickering coming up eventually, probably). Going to be busy!

Last weekend was a moderately successful weekend. Iron Dragons participated in Milton, where I drummed and coached, and NDRC Women participated in the Toronto Women’s Regatta, where I steered (I was content not to paddle since paddling is really too much work).

Fat Day #2

I realize this post is quite late.

It was Fat Day #2 two Wednesdays ago! This time, I celebrated my birthday with my Iron Dragons family. We went out for sushi! I haven’t really been to that many AYCE sushi places so I asked for suggestions. Julian gave me a few, including Sushi House, Kyoto House, and Kuni Sushi Ya. Out of his suggestions, the only one I had been to before was Kuni Sushi Ya, as it’s relatively close to school and my labmates like it a lot.

It was a bit of a last-minute planned event, as I wasn’t even able to confirm the date until the day before the event. I didn’t really care where we went so I asked Julian to pick a place and he picked Sushi House. So that’s where we went!

Movie Commentary: Star Wars IV

I’m on a train and I’m watching Star Wars, episode 4. I’ve never watched any of the Star Wars movies before (don’t judge me!) until the latest one came out and Heming wanted to see it. It got me interested so now I’m watching the first six, starting with IV.

I tend to like commenting on movies as I watch them (it’s what makes me terrible to watch movies with) and was writing to the Iron Dragons execs, but Desmond got annoyed so I’m going to make it into a blog post instead.

Iron Dragons Christmas Party

I suppose that if we wanted to be politically correct, it ought to be called the “Iron Dragons Holiday Party,” but I’m not particularly concerned with being politically correct and I also like celebrating Christmas. I’m not religious in any way, so to me, “Christmas” is just a word representing “holiday in December where you get presents and food.” Please don’t read into that as any sort of political or religious stance because it isn’t one.

The above picture was taken when people were dancing. Desmond was dancing so fast he made the picture blurry.
